This is the plastic guide at the top of the metal dipstick tube, most commonly found on older Diesel models. They are very common to break, as the plastic gets brittle with age.
TOP TIP: If fitting a new one at low temperatures, its a good idea to warm it up with some warm water first, as even new ones are brittle at low temperatures.
